Our Athlete of the Week this week is Brooke Warner. Brooke has been playing golf for seven years and says her favorite high school memory was her junior year at their area tournament. Brooke said, “We beat Dalton by just a few strokes, and we were on our way to state. It was also two of my close friends’ last season, so it was a great feeling to win with them.” When asked why she thinks she was chosen, Brooke said, “I think I was picked because I love helping the underclassmen with their game and keeping spirits up.” Head Coach Johnny Tilton says, “Brooke has led our team in scoring all season long. Brooke’s confidence rubs off on her teammates and has been the key to our success. We look forward to a successful post-season with her leading the group.” After high school, Brooke plans to attend the University of Georgia where she will major in environmental engineering or linguistics. Her advice to younger athletes is, “Love what you are doing. Some days may be hard, but the outcome is always worth it.” Congratulations on being recognized for all your hard work on and off the golf course, Brooke!
