This week’s Athlete of the Week comes from Cheer, Kristen Hur. Some words from Coach Anette Gratzer about Kristen, “As one of our captains, Kristen is always maintaining a positive outlook for her team. She is hardworking and always willing to help in whatever way it is possible. She is a shining example of a leader.” Kristen has been on Cheer since her freshman year and is now entering her junior year. She is always ready to help other athletes to grow through Cheer and to become leaders themselves. When she performs, she knows it is not just her on the court or field, so her goal is to include everyone and to be positive through the good and bad moments. Some advice for younger athletes, Kristen said, “Look around you while you perform, and don’t just focus on yourself.” It is clear she cares about others. She wants them to succeed first just as a leader should. Lead from the front by being a great example to the people that follow you, learn how to become a leader as great as she is. Congratulations, Kristen Hur, and keep up the hard work.
