Behind the Scenes of Bucs Flag Football

Written by Martha Perez – Journalism Staff Reporter

As fall is back in full swing, so are our Flag football Lady Bucs! Winning nine out of their first ten games, they have had a great start to their season. They begin their practices with fundamentals such as flag pulling and follow through by doing offensive and defensive scrimmages. Preseason training consisted of a variety of different things. Many of the girls are a part of other teams at Allatoona such as softball, lacrosse, and soccer. They also stayed in shape over the summer by running and doing conditioning. Junior Kinsley Labeau says, “These first few games have felt great; we’ve come out with some great wins against good teams.”

Flag Football is entering its 4th season as a GHSA sport. Seniors such Hazel Shultz and Maci Strickland have been on the team since its inaugural season. Head Coach Jordan Davis says, “We have a veteran team that is very well rounded and who loves to play together.” Sophomore Aubrey Moore says, “Last year was my first year, and it was so much fun playing with the girls. I am excited to see what this season holds in store for us.” Coach Davis says, “When we go out and play well, we have a chance to be really great. It is really all about us taking care of what we can control, and I am looking forward to how that plays out this season.” We are looking forward to a great season as well!
