Our athlete of the week this week is Jaasira Fossitt. Jaasira is a senior at Allatoona High School and has played basketball since she was in 3rd grade. “Jaasira is the heart of the team,” says Women’s Basketball Head Coach James Bouyer. “Being able to win as a team involves serious sacrifice. Whether it be playing a position that is not most comfortable or just not wanting to go to two to three hour long practices, we all give up something in order to be successful,’ Jaasira says. While playing basketball at Allatoona, her favorite memory is “celebrating team wins by going to Waffle House.” Jaasira’s plans after high school include attending college and majoring in nursing. Her advice to younger players is to “trust the process.” She says this because she believes that all good things come to those who wait.
