Amanda Edwards has been teaching high school mathematics for 17 years, 16 years at Allatoona High School and 9 years with Cobb Virtual Academy. In high school, Coach Edwards cheered for her school’s Varsity Football and Competition squad and competed with Georgia and Stingray All-Stars. Following high school, she attended Georgia Institute of Technology and Kennesaw State University where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education. She also has her Masters of Education and Educational Specialist degree, and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. Coach Edwards is entering her 12th year of coaching high school cheerleading. During her coaching career, she has led her teams to five consecutive GHSA Region Cheerleading Championships and ten GHSA State Final appearances. Coach Edwards also serves as the Allatoona Varsity Math Team Coach, Mu Alpha Theta Co-Sponsor, Beta Club Co-Sponsor, Varsity Baseball Diamond Doll Co-Sponsor, SAT/ACT Prep Course Coordinator and has been named a Football Honorary Buccaneer, Softball Superhero, Lacrosse Favorite Teacher, and Basketball Teacher Honoree.

Coach Edwards is married to Zack, who is also an Allatoona teacher and football coach. They have two little boys, Locke and Graydon, that keep them busy and entertained. She considers her grandmothers as her mentors, drawing inspiration and wisdom from their life experiences and guidance, which have significantly shaped her approach to coaching and teaching. Coach Edwards draws inspiration from Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
