Our Athlete of the Week this week is Jackson Stone. Jackson has been playing golf for three years and says his favorite memory was holing out from one hundred and six yards on the first day of tryouts this year. When asked why he thinks he was chosen, Stone said, “I think I was picked because of my work ethic, and I’m always trying to help the newer kids out during practice.” After high school, Jackson plans to go to Truett McConnell University to play golf and get a degree in business. Head Coach Joseph Lanier says, “Jackson led our team at the county championships with a score of seventy-one and had the lowest score on day two at the tournament. He helped our team finish third place.” Jackson’s advice to younger athletes is, “Just put your head down and work hard. Don’t focus on the result but focus on the path to get to the results you want.” Congratulations on being recognized for all your hard work on and off the golf course, Jackson!
