Every year for the Turner’s Heroes football game, Coach Varner selects one player to represent Turner’s number, 84. Being chosen to represent his number is an honor and is only given to the players who truly represent good character and deserve it. The player selected this year is Senior Ty Thompson. Coach Varner says, “This number represents what you want to have in the program. High character, hard work ethics, reliability, and that’s what Ty is every day. Ty is not up and down; he is very consistent and always reliable. He always has a high work ethic and high character.” In response to being chosen, Ty told us, “It’s an incredible honor to be chosen from among my peers because there were a lot of options, but to represent Turner while playing on that field tonight will be a great joy and pleasure.”
