Our Athlete of the Week this week is Aydan Grossmann. Aydan is a senior at Allatoona High School and has been playing tennis since he was ten years old. Aydan is “a young man who is confident, talented, well-connected. He always has a positive attitude about every match, every opponent- he lifts up the team with his demeanor, his words,” said Boys Head Tennis Coach Raef Williams. “Being one of two seniors with a few young players and a new coach, I had to really lead the team,” Aydan says. His favorite memory while playing Tennis at Allatoona was “The Lagrange tournament this year because we didn’t get it last year, and we ended up going undefeated without losing a match.” Aydan’s plans after high school are to attend Oglethorpe and play tennis. His advice to younger players is, “Tennis isn’t a sport you can pick up and be the best at. It takes real hard work and hours to even get the most simple mechanics. Even if it seems like you can’t do something on the court, keep practicing because with time, you can achieve anything in this amazing sport.”
