Coach Edwards has a BS from the University of South Carolina in Biological Oceanography and an MS from Georgia Southern University in Kinesiology with a Coaching Education Concentration. He has been teaching and coaching for eight years. In high school, Coach Edwards competed in football, and he continued to compete in football at the University of South Carolina. Coach Edwards is married to Allatoona Math teacher Amanda Edwards, and they have two sons: Locke and Graydon.

Coach Edwards views Coach Mark Hollars as his mentor, and he finds inspiration from the quotation: “Go over, go under, go around, or go through, but never give up.”
