Robyn Cathey has been coaching middle school and high school cheerleading for 22 years. She has coached allstar teams for 19 years, with 16 of those years being at The Stingray Allstars. She attended both Georgia Southern University and Georgia State University, majoring in Political Science. In high school, she competed in Sideline and Competitive Cheerleading.
Coach Cathey has been married to her husband Jay for 19 years, and they have three children: Aidan, age 17; Piper, age 11; and Nolan, age 9. She says, “My grandmother greatly impacted me. She believed in me so much that it was contagious. Her confidence in me gave me confidence in myself. I have tried to do the same for other people especially female athletes.” Coach Cathey draws inspiration from John Quincy Adams, who stated, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.”
