Coach Parsons has a B.S. in Social Sciences from Campbell University (2004), a Masters of Education from Troy University (2010), an Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from GCSU (2012), and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership (2017). He has been teaching fifteen years and coaching sixteen years. Coach Parsons ran track and cross country in high school and college, and he was awarded the Cross Country Coaches Award at Campbell University from 2001 to 2004. Additionally, he was named the MDJ’s Male Track Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2018, the Atlanta Track Club All-Metro Boys AAAAAA Track Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2018, and the GATFXCCCA Girls XC 6A Coach of the Year in 2019. Coach Parsons and his staff were also recognized by the Atlanta Track Club in 2017 and 2018 as the top AAAAAA Boys Track Program in recognition of the 2017 and 2018 State Titles.

Coach Parsons is married to Kelli Parsons, and they have one daughter, Savannah. Coach Parsons views as mentors Jeff Morris, Head Cross Country Coach and longtime friend in Perham, MN, Ken Frennette, his college coach at Campbell University, Eddie Jeremaine Hood, a former college teammate, and Jack Coleman, Head Coach at Marietta High School. Coach Parsons finds inspiration the following quotations:
