Coach Morey has a Bachelors in Business Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology where he majored in economics and computer science and played football and lacrosse. He was All Conference Football Lineman in 1974 Southern Tier Athletic Conference in NY. Prior to that, Coach Morey attended Painted Post West High School in Corning, NY, where he played lacrosse, football, and snow skiing.

Coach Morey is married to Debbie, with a daughter Reagan, a son Nathaniel, and a daughter-in-law Ashley. He looks up to his father Brock Morey and his mother Peg Zulick Morey as mentors. He finds inspiration in the quotation from Ben Franklin: “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me, and I learn.”
