Coach Ellwood has a B.A. in Pre-Medicine, a B.S. in Education, a M.Ed. in Science Education, and an Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction, and he has been teaching for sixteen years and coaching for seven. In high school, Coach Ellwood competed in water polo, soccer, swimming, and track, before competing in rugby in college. He was named a Scholar Athlete, and received awards for the President’s Council on Fitness and TOM.
Coach Ellwood has three sons: Chase, age twenty; Kaden, age six; and Lucas, age three. He views Bill Perry and Dr. Debbie Phelps as his mentors, and he finds inspiration from the quotation: “It never gets easier, you just get better.”
