Dr. Brian Gwyn has an Ed.D. in Athletic Administration from North Central University, an Ed.S. in Instructional Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University, an M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from American Intercontinental University, a B.A. in African American Studies from University of North Carolina Charlotte, and a B.A. in English Studies from University of Tennessee Chattanooga. He has been teaching and coaching for nineteen years. Dr. Gwyn served fifteen years as as high school head and assistant football coach and head track coach, and he served four years as a college football assistant coach at Morehouse College and Morris Brown College. In college, Dr. Gwyn played football, and prior to that, in high school, he was a quadruple sport athlete, playing baseball, basketball, football, and competing in track.
Dr. Gwyn is married to Mrs. Terhea Gwyn, and he looks up to Ray Anderson, the Director of Athletics for Arizona State University, Dr. Morris Blasingame, his former Coach and Principal, Daryl Baker, of Omega Psi Phi Incorporated, and Dr. David Williams, Athletic Director of Vanderbilt University, RIP. He finds inspiration from the quotation: “I am the master of my fate and captain of my soul (William Ernest Henley).”
