Our Athlete of the Week this week is Lauren Messick. Lauren has been playing soccer for about ten years and plans to attend Utah State University to study early childhood development. She expresses that her favorite high school memory while playing was, “When Coach Ellwood would make pregame slides with voice recordings of him singing random songs.” Coach Megan Kurth says, “Lauren led our team in pre-season conditioning and consistently works hard at each practice.” When asked what her advice to younger athletes would be, Lauren said, “To always stay positive, enjoy it while it lasts, and make relationships with your teammates because those friendships are the ones that matter the most.” Congratulations on being recognized for all your hard work, Lauren!
