Fighting for a Cause: Allatoona Supports Turner’s Heroes

Written by Sara Tilton – Buccaneer Scroll Staff Reporter

This Friday, November 6th, is a huge game for our football team vs. Kell. This game is a lot bigger than us. This game is more than a win or a loss. This game is more than just a football game. The captains for the game will be taking the field wearing their capes to honor Turner Cockrell, a former Buc who lost his battle to cancer.

Along with the captains wearing the capes, the coaches will be wearing t-shirts and capes on the sidelines. Allatoona and its feeder school community have been advertising that we all wear t-shirts and capes to support Turner and Turner’s Heroes. All the funds that we raise go straight to Turner’s Heroes, a non-profit organization that helps with childhood cancer research. We hope to see you guys at the game in your t-shirts and capes, supporting this awesome cause.
